How Do I Avoid Catching What’s Going Around The Office?
In your busy life of Paying Bills, Shopping For Music, Raising Kids, Student Loans, Energy Savings, and any other major topic of your work-a-day life, the last thing you need to add to the list of Terribles is the prospect of getting sick on the job. Unfortunately, the work place is where most people tend to catch the flu, colds and pretty much anything else that can be transmitted through close contact. Add to that the fact that you are working and running yourself ragged and you have a prime scenario for getting burnt out and getting sick.
There are a few ways you can avoid catching what everyone else has in the office. Remembering to wash your hands frequently is always a good idea whether it’s a few hours after a handshake (from someone you know is sick) or using someone else’s keyboard or just touching the same door handle. Companies, nowadays, have hand sanitizer dispensers to handle this and you can pick up a small bottle of your own at a local drug store. Another viable option, but a little less conventional, is getting yourself a fabric faceguard like the dentists wear. Lots of people in the city who are sick wear them, but as long as you remember to wash your hands, you really shouldn’t need to resort to that. And, of course, make sure, after work, that you are getting the rest you need.
